How to read the model

Age and hierarchy semantics

Area → skill → milestone

A skill is a capability group. A milestone is one observable rung. Child answers are written against milestones and rolled up into skill progress.

Skill scope is an envelope

The backend skill range is the minimum and maximum of its milestone ranges. It is not used as the granular questionnaire filter.

Source and estimated coexist

The original band remains traceable. A low-confidence estimate may drive selection and sorting while public copy continues to show the source range.

One estimated row per milestone

A skill can span many estimated labels because it has many milestones. No milestone in this snapshot has more than one estimated-band row.
